Olympic Committees around the world celebrate International Olympic Day every
year on June 23 (the anniversary of the founding of the International Olympic
Committee) by holding cultural and sports celebrations on this day. In this
regard, this year, this week-long ceremony in Iran will begin under the title
"The All Persian Gulf" and with a tribute to the families of the
victims of Shahid Rajaee Port incident in Bandar Abbas.
This ceremony will be held in the
form of a public run on the planned routes and some side programs in several
provinces, with the opening of the ceremony in Bandar Abbas and its closing in
one of the cities on the Caspian Sea coast.
The main purpose of celebrating
International Olympic Day is to promote sport and physical activity, Olympic
values, strengthen global solidarity, and commemorate the history and legacy of
the Olympics.
