Abdollah bin Saud Al-Anzi, Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Iran, met and discussed with Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, President, and Dr. Mahdi Alinejad, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee.
Iran NOC; Tehran: At the
beginning of this meeting, Khosravi Vafa, the President of the National Olympic
Committee, welcomed the Saudi ambassador and his accompanying delegation,
emphasizing on Saudi Arabia's hosting the Islamic Solidarity Games and stating:
"Saudi Arabia will host the largest sporting event among Islamic countries
this year, which will certainly be held in the best and most professional
manner possible. With Saudi Arabia hosting the Islamic Solidarity Games, given
the location of the Two Holy Mosques in that country, there will undoubtedly be
the greatest harmony between the people and Islamic countries, and unity,
brotherhood, and affection will be further enhanced through athletes”.
“Iran and Saudi Arabia have great
potential in terms of sports teams, technical staff, and executive teams, which
will certainly create a connecting point between the two countries by
increasing these communications and exchanges; I hope this opportunity will be
a turning point for greater cooperation and synergy between the two countries”
highlighted the NOC President.
On the following, Abdollah bin
Saud Al-Anzi, the Saudi Ambassador to Iran, while expressing his happiness at
his presence at the National Olympic Committee, held: "I am happy to
witness your successes closely and congratulate the results and performance of
Iranian athletes at the Paris Olympics. We are brothers and friends and have
many things in common, and undoubtedly, cooperation and exchange of sports
experts will help the development of sports in both countries in important
sports events."
At the end of the meeting, the
parties emphasized on the great capacities of both countries in sports and highlighted
further cooperation in this area in order to use each other's capacities.
