A coordination meeting between officials from the National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Sports with candidate federations participating in the Asian Youth Games (Martial arts, Kabaddi, Table Tennis, and Weightlifting) was held at the National Olympic Committee.
Iran NOC; Tehran: In this
meeting, which was held with the presence of Mr. Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, the NOC
President, Dr. Mahdi Alinejad, the NOC Secretary General, and senior managers
of the Ministry of Sports, Dr. Alinejad announced the decision of the National
Olympic Committee for sending a quality delegation to Bahrain 2025 Asian Youth
Games and the importance of this event for the country's national champions in
order to build support for their participation in the Nagoya 2026 Asian Games
and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
The Secretary General of the
National Olympic Committee also emphasized on the need to conduct national team
preparation tests at the National Olympic Academy's Monitoring Center and highlighted
the importance of paying attention to the issue of doping control and informing
national team players in this age group about it, adding: "In these meetings,
the programs of the candidate federations will be reviewed, but given the
quality of the Iranian delegation, the disciplines and number of national team
players to be sent will be finalized by the Games' Higher Headquarter."
NFs’ officials also shared their points and their potentials for the said games
in return.
