Dr. Mahdi Alinejad, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee, presented medals and mementos to the top finishers of the event at the FUN RUN ceremony in Tajikistan, which was held in the presence of representatives of the OCA and the Nagoya Asian Games Organizing Committee.
Iran NOC; Tehran: For the past
several years, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the Asian Games Organizing
Committee have been organizing an exciting and sporting event called FUN RUN in
most countries of the Old Continent, one year before the start of the Games. This
event aims to familiarize people, especially the younger generation, with the
Olympic movement and the Games. In this regard, and on the eve of the Aichi-Nagoya
2026 Asian Games, this event was held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
Also; during a two-day meeting on
the sidelines of the National Olympic Committees' meeting, Olympic Solidarity
(OS) programs in the Central and West Asian regions were announced and
developed by representatives of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). This
meeting, represented by Edward Kensington, Chair of the Olympic Solidarity
Asia, was attended by officials from the financial and OS departments of the
Olympic Council of Asia and Olympic Solidarity representatives from the
National Olympic Committees of Central and West Asia, with Amir Balzadeh, Iranian
Director of the Olympic Solidarity, also attending as Iran's representative. At
this meeting, the four-year Olympic Solidarity programs of the National Olympic
Committees of Asia in the Central and West Asia sections were announced during
6 specialized workshops and thorough explanations were provided on implementation
of these programs. The NOC Secretary General, referring to the position of the
Solidarity in the Olympic Committees, expressed hope that all Asian countries,
and especially Iran, can play an effective role in presenting the Olympic
Solidarity programs in line with the goals for which they have been developed.
