The Iranian National Greco-Roman teams gain the Championship title of Asian Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship.
Iran NOC; Tehran: The National
Greco-Roman Wrestling team won 5 gold and 3 silver medals, becoming the
champion of the Old Continent in Jordan. The Asian Wrestling Championship was
held in Amman, Jordan. In the end, the Iranian team won gold medals by Saeed
Esmaili in the 67 kg, Danial Sohrabi in the 72 kg, Mohammad Naghousi in the 82
kg, Mohammad Hadi Saravi in the 97 kg, and Fardin Hedayati in the 130 kg,
while Mohammad Mehdi Keshtkar in the 63 kg, Alireza Abdevali in the 77 kg, and
Yasin Yazdi in the 97 kg won silver medals. In the team ranking, Iran won the
championship title with 201 points, while the teams of Uzbekistan with 168 and
Japan with 131 points came in second and third.
The National Olympic Committee
congratulated the national Greco-Roman wrestling team on their resounding
victory in the Asian Championship.
