Alireza Dabir, President of the Wrestling Federation, was elected as Vice President and Board Member of the Asian Wrestling Council after being on the Technical Commission of the United World Wrestling (UWW).
Iran NOC; Tehran: The Asian
Wrestling Council election, with the highest participation in the council’s
history, was held in Amman, Jordan. 38 Asian federations participated in the
election. Alireza Dabir, the President of the Iranian Wrestling Federation,
winning 27 votes, was elected as Asian Wrestling Council’s Board Member. Mohammed
Zayed from Jordan, host of the assembly, came first with 34 votes, and Ye
Zhang, a member of the United World Wrestling board member, from China, secured
28 votes. Another success of the President of the Wrestling Federation was gaining
7 out of 7 votes cast by the new members of the Board to stand as of Vice
President of the Asian Wrestling Council. Dr. Mahdi Alinejad, Secretary General
of the National Olympic Committee, congratulated Dr. Alireza on his election as
the Vice-President of the Wrestling Federation in a message.
