NOC President Expresses Gratitude to Former IOC President
Mr. Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, the President of the National Olympic Committee, sent a letter to the International Olympic Committee, expressing gratitude to Thomas Bach for his many years of work at the IOC, his support for Iranian National Olympic Committee, and also invited him to visit Iran.

Iran NOC; Tehran: The letter sent by the NOC President to Thomas Bach highlights deepest gratitude for Bach’s extraordinary leadership and unwavering commitment to the Olympic Movement and to the protection of athletes’ rights. Khosravi Vafa has expressed that under his unwavering leadership, the IOC has successfully overcome global challenges over the past decade and ensured the continued progress and consistency of the Olympic Games.

“I sincerely appreciate your trust and support for the National Olympic Committee of Iran, which has enabled us to strengthen our programs in the interests of athletes and overcome challenges. I would also like to congratulate you on the valuable election of the next President of the IOC, who will continue your legacy as an Olympic Fencing champion and a true champion of sportsmanship and excellence. Symbolically, you are passing the torch to another distinguished Olympian, Kirsty Coventry, to ensure that the Olympic Movement continues to grow under the leadership of leaders who keep its fundamental values alive” has been highlighted in the NOC President’s letter.

In the final part of the letter, Mr. Khosravi Vafa has stated that following previous negotiations in Paris, he once again and wholeheartedly invites Thomas Bach to travel to Iran and visit the potential of Iranian sports.
