Mr. Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, President of Iran National Olympic Committee sent a congratulation letter to Kirsty Coventry, the newly elected President of International Olympic Committee who was chosen to run within the 144th IOC Session.

to Kirsty Coventry, as the first woman and the first African to act at highest
sports management position; Mr. Khosravi Vaf has highlighted such remarkable
achievement is not just an individual triumph, but a testament to progress,
equal opportunity, and the ever-evolving spirit of the Olympic Movement. The
NOC President further stated in his letter that truly, as a role model, Ms.
Kirsty Coventry has broken barriers to depict a brighter future for athletes,
leaders, and young women around the world. Being confident on a deep
understanding of the needs of athletes, combined with expertise and commitment
to advancing the ideals of Olympism at all levels, the NOC President remarked
that the ideal person to continue the International Olympic Committee's path in
upholding the values of excellence, friendship and respect, and fostering
unity and inclusiveness among all nations is well acknowledged.
