The meeting of the International Relations Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia was held virtually with the presence of Farid Fattahian, the Iranian representative on the committee.
Iran NOC; Tehran: The OCA
International Relations Committee meeting was held online with the presence of
Mr. Vinod Kumar Tiwari, Deputy Executive Director of the Olympic Council of
Asia, and representatives from Iran, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Japan, Singapore, and
Bangladesh. In this meeting, Vinod, as the Chair of the meeting, announced the
preparation of a draft memorandum of understanding with UNESCO, and it was
further approved that this draft be sent to the members, their suggestions and
points of view be sent, and the other next steps be implemented. In the
continuation of this meeting, Farid Fattahian, proposed to hold a seminar of
the International Relations Committee with the international directors of the
National Olympic Committees of the member countries during the Asian Games,
which was welcomed.
In addition, inviting members of
the OCA International Relations Committee to attend the Asian Games in order to
communicate between the Olympic Council of Asia and the National Olympic
Committees of the OCA member countries was another proposal that was proposed
by the Iranian representative and approved by the members. In this meeting, it
was also approved that the first in-person seminar of the members be hosted by Baghdad,
Iraq, in early 2025.
