The Golf Federation hosted 22 foreign ambassadors based in Iran by holding the Diplomats Cup tournament.

Hashemi, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee, participated in
the closing ceremony and expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the
federation officials in holding the above competitions, stating: "One of
the advantages and good capacities of sports, and especially golf, is
interaction, friendship, and sports diplomacy, as today we see 22 ambassadors
present as guests and players in these competitions, and holding such
competitions can even help us win international positions." The NOC
Secretary-General concluded: “I would like to express my gratitude to the
officials of the Federation and Dr. Azizi for holding these competitions, and I
hope that, considering the plans that the Federation has on its agenda, in the
near future, apart from promoting golf's position in the Asian ranking, we will
witness support for this discipline in the youth section”.
Dr. Hamid Azizi, President of the
Golf Federation, highlighted: “After the Covid-19 pandemic, we did not have the
opportunity for diplomats to be present, and we resumed activities, which was
well received. Efforts are being made to hold these competitions in the coming
months, given the satisfaction expressed by the ambassadors, and we will
undoubtedly see more welcome from the ambassadors of different countries”. At
the end of the competition, which was held at the golf course of the Enghelab
Sports Complex with the presence of ambassadors from 22 countries as guests and
players, the Spanish Ambassador achieved the best record in the competition. In
the handicap section, the Ambassador of Brunei came in first place, the
Ambassadors of Vietnam and South Korea came in joint second place, and the Ambassador
of Japan bagged the third place.
