Iranian Wrestling NF Hosts 43rd NOC EB Meeting
The 43rd meeting of the NOC Executive Board was held at the Wrestling Federation with the presence of members.

Iran NOC; Tehran: After the end of the National Olympic Committee Executive Board meeting hosted by the Wrestling Federation, Seyed Manaf Hashemi, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee, stated: "The members of the Executive Board today held this meeting with the aim of appreciating the efforts of wrestling and the infrastructure that was provided by the efforts of the government and non-government organizations and Alireza Dabir for athletes, wrestlers and hardworking ones in this discipline. Wrestling is the first discipline and we win medals every time."

"The next Executive Board meeting will be held at the Taekwondo Federation and then at the Weightlifting Federation. We plan to go to the federations in rotation for the Nagoya Asian Games, and for this purpose, we started with the best" He further continued.

Highlighting that Wrestling and Taekwondo Federations were to receive extra assistance outside the budget to increase their motivation through their performance in the Olympics; the Secretary-General added: “We will be leaving for the Harbin Winter Games in March with a delegation of 35 individuals. Our athletes will compete in two disciplines: skiing and mountaineering and cross-country skiing. Although we do not expect to win many medals, we will be leaving for this Asian event fully prepared. For this purpose, we have foreseen preparation camps and the necessary budget”. Dr. Seyed Manaf Hashemi also highlighted the need for doubling the effort to compete against top teams of Asia with the target of winning gold medals.
