The 42nd meeting of NOC Executive Board was held at Sports Ministry in the presence of Dr. Ahmad Donyamali, the Minister of Sports & Youth.

Hasehmi, the NOC Secretary General stated: "The expectation is that in the
2026 Asian Games in Japan, we improve our standing compared to the previous edition’s
(seventh place), and to achieve this goal, we must do a lot and win between 27
and 28 gold medals or even more, because we have tough competitors ahead of us
and they are further."
The NOC Secretary General regarding
the executive board meeting in the presence of Dr. Ahmad Donyamali, Minister of
Sports and Youth, continued: "Today we had our 42nd meeting with the Sports
Minister, Dr. Donyamali. Various discussions were raised and he presented his expectations
from the members of the Executive Board.
Hosting and support should be targeted. It was also discussed in this
meeting that the federations should have a detailed plan for their future and,
based on their own plans, they should formulate their predictions regarding the
2026 Asian Games and obtaining a quota for the 2028 Olympics. The Minister also
expressed his views and expectations and stated that his support and assistance
will be in this direction”.
Highlighting some details
regarding the upcoming General Assembly within the next month; the Secretary
General of the National Olympic Committee emphasized: “Most of the opinions
were close and to achieve this goal, we have a difficult task ahead of us; both
the federations that have won medals in the past and the federations that have not
won medals yet. It is difficult for everyone because the competitors have their
own plans”.
