The first meeting of the Management and Technology Department of the National Olympic Academy was held at the National Olympic Academy with the presence of Dr. Seyed Manaf Hashemi, the NOC Secretary General Dr. Farhad Sadr, Director of the National Olympic Academy, and members of the department.
Iran NOC; Tehran: At the
beginning of the meeting, Dr. Sadr presented a general report on the
departments of management and technology in sports, measuring and analyzing
athlete performance, anti-doping, sports nutrition, sports psychology, heart
and sports, and also the prevention of sports injuries. The participants of the
meeting emphasized the importance and necessity of benefiting from the existing
voluntary capacities in sports, as well as the importance of synergy and
cooperation between different sectors. They further described monopolization as
a scourge and challenge to the system, and emphasized and clarified the need
for a center to cultivate specialized personnel in sports and the role of the
academy in this area.
Continuing the meeting, Dr. Seyed
Manaf Hashemi stated that positive things are taking place and are being
realized in the new period of the National Olympic Academy's activity:
"Different departments must achieve the necessary output and use new
categories such as artificial intelligence and specialized training in championship
sports management, and the necessary mechanism must be adopted for the
interaction and synergy of departments."
"There is a need to create a
specialized center to maximize the recognition of elite talents in the academy.
The academy must connect itself to all parallel devices related to the category
of championship sports, and the anticipated departments must have the potential
to be sports think tanks" added the NOC Secretary General, emphasizing
that greenhouse methods should be used in the academy.
The NOC Secretary-General pointed
out: “The academy can become the intellectual arm of providing services in
sports, and Olympic bases should be established with the function of developing
championship sports. This committee is trying to establish Olympic bases
affiliated with the academy with the best facilities in several regions of the
country, because the high potential of our sport is not limited to two or three
sports disciplines, and this potential and capacities available in all
disciplines should be used”.
The use of artificial
intelligence in the development of championship sports, evaluation models and a
code of excellence in sports management, as well as digital and future research
in sports organizations were among the most important topics discussed at the
first meeting of the Department of Management and Technology in Sports of the
National Olympic Academy.
