The three thousand dollar PSA International Squash Tournament in Johannesburg, South Africa ended with the championship and Fereshteh Eghtedari’s historic performance again.
Iran NOC; Tehran: In this
tournament, Eghtedari went to the final by winning against the first chance of championship
the tournament. In the final game, our national player faced Alexa Pinar, the
representative of the host country and the second chance to win the tournament,
and by defeating this tough opponent, she deservedly won the historic gold
medal. This is the first gold medal in the history of Iranian women's squash,
which was won by an Eghtedari. It should be mentioned that this is the second
medal in the history of Iranian women's squash, which was also won by the same
athlete. Eghtedari had previously won a bronze medal in the International
Squash Tournament of the World Ranking of the World Professional Squash Players
Organization in Calcutta, India.
