During the Olympic Values Development Workshop (OVEP) for physical education teachers, which was held in collaboration with the National Olympic Academy and the Student Sports Federation, during the August 2024, a meeting was held with a group of experts in the field of sports management in the country and participants.
Iran NOC; Tehran: In this
meeting, Dr. Farhad Sadr, the Director of the National Olympic Academy,
addressed the attendees and said: “Among the main discussions that are followed
in the National Olympic Academy in a very bold way, we can mention the
development of Olympic values, the Olympic movement and conceptual issues
related to these topics. The items are taught in a specialized and professional
manner, in a specific framework and with the presence of experienced professors
in this field, and is presented to the audience in the academy complex”.
While pointing out the need to
continue holding training courses related to Olympic values, he continued: “It
is obvious that the two main audience groups that should receive the necessary
training regarding the basic and conceptual issues related to the development
of Olympic values are university students and are schoolers who, according to
the capacities available in the Student Sports Federation and the discussions led
us to hold such a workshop”. NOA Director pointed out the need to prepare a
comprehensive report for the International Olympic Committee on the topic of
holding a workshop on the development of Olympic values for special audiences
such as physical education teachers across the country and expressed: “Our
effort and of course our vision is the work that has started, expand and turn
it into regional workshops”.
