Amirhossein Zareh, the Iranian +125kg Freestyle Wrestler in the Paris 2024 left the gold to his Georgian opponent to cease to the runner-up title and silver medal.

Iran NOC; Tehran: The finals and ranking games of two second weights started at 19:30 local time, when Amir Hossein Zare faced Geno Petriashvili from Georgia in the 125 kg finals and won the silver medal after losing in this match. In f 125 kg, where 16 athletes were present, Amir Hossein Zare won 5-0 against Ayal Lazarif from Kyrgyzstan in the first round. In the next round, he defeated Desi from Canada by 10-0 and entered the semi-finals. In this stage, Zare won by 2-1 against Turkish Taha Akgul, the world and Olympic champion, and became a finalist. In the final, Zare faced Geno Petraishvili, the holder of Olympic silver and bronze medals and 3 world gold medals from Georgia which ended by a loss and led to silver medal.
