Athletics nationals secured two Olympic sports in 100m sprint in men’s and women’s sections.
Iran NOC; Tehran: Hassan Taftian
and Farzaneh Fassihi managed to enter Olympic Games by ranking quota. Based on
this, Fassihi and Hassan Taftian ranked 38th and 45th in the ranking table of
the World Athletics Federation respectively and were able to obtain the
necessary permission to participate in the Paris Olympics on behalf of the
Islamic Republic of Iran. It should be noted that in the 100m Olympic Games,
there will be 56 athletes in both the women's and men's divisions. In the
women's division, 28 runners managed to get a direct entry record, and in the
men's division, 30 runners managed to register the direct entry quota. The
ranking table of the World Athletics Federation clarified the permission other
participants.
