Ali Davoudi became the runner-up in the Weightlifting World Cup of Thailand with a record of 454 kg and also won the second quota of the Iran Weightlifting Olympics. Ayat Sharifi also won three bronze medals.

group A competition of the Thailand Weightlifting World Cup was held and Ali
Davoudi, in addition to finalizing his Olympic quota, was able to win three
silver medals.
Ali Davodi recorded 202 kg in Stanch,
252 kg in Clean & Jerk and a total of 454 kg to win the silver medal of the
World Cup in Thailand. He won a silver medal in both categories.
Ayat Sharifi, who weighed in
group B, won the bronze medal with a record of 201kg in Snatch, 246 kg in Clean
& Jerk and a total of 447 kg. He won a bronze medal in both categories. Ayat
Sharifi hoped beat Ali Davoudi in Group B to get the quota, but he was unable
to record a higher overall record than Davoudi. According to the Olympic quota
system, the first 10 people of each Olympic weight can get a quota, but only
one person from each country gets a quota. Davoudi is participating in the
Olympics for the second time and he is the runner-up of the 2020 Tokyo
Olympics. Before Davoudi, Mostafa Javadi in 89kg had managed to obtain the
Paris 2024 spot.
