Following the inauguration of IOC’s new Headquarters, Dr. Salehi Amiri met with Sergei Bubka, President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, Eric Tohney, President of the Indonesian NOC, President of the World Gymnastics Federation and Chairman of the IOC Olympic Athletic Section.
Following the inauguration of IOC’s new Headquarters, Dr. Salehi
Amiri met with Sergei Bubka, President of the National Olympic Committee of
Ukraine, Eric Tohney, President of the Indonesian NOC, President of the World
Gymnastics Federation and Chairman of the IOC
Olympic Athletic Section.
According to the report by NOC Public Relations Dept., President
Salehi Amiri had a meeting with Sergei Bubka, Ukrainian NOC President and IOC
Executive Board Member.
“We are able to boost both countries sport through joint training
camps and exchange of coaches so as to support each other in international sessions
and assemblies” remarked the Iranian NOC President and Sergei Bubka also
expressed interest in expansion of mutual collaboration through signing an MoU due
to be concluded in a future meeting in Ukraine as per the Ukrainian NOC
President invitation.
Dr. Salehi Amiri, the Iranian NOC President met with Watanabe,
President of the International Gymnastics Federation.
While reporting on the progress of Iranian gymnastics in recent
years, Dr. Salehi Amiri, emphasized on the recent medals achieved by Iranian gymnasts
in Asia and Watanabe, in return, expressed satisfaction with the progress of
Iranian gymnastics and stated: " We managed to help gymnastics develop in
Iran in recent years by supporting the Iranian Federation and sending the coach
there”.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Salehi Amiri noted: “Considering
that Ms. Inchedargahi, President of Iranian Gymnastics Federation, is a
successful sports director and is a candidate for FIG membership in line with
the gender equality policies of this sports body, it is expected that she could
have better chances for your upcoming election taking place in two years” which
was approved by Watanabe.
Dr. Salehi Amiri, during talks with Olivier Niamaki, Chairman of
the Olympic Solidarity Athletes Section and Chairman of Continental
Communications with Asia, briefly reported our country's Solidarity programs
and described the special events scheduled for the Olympic Week that was
welcomed by Niemakki. Subsequently, Niamaki expressed satisfaction with the inauguration
of the National Sport, Olympic and Paralympic Museum by Iran NOC and said:
"I am pleased that Dr. Salehi Amiri has fulfilled all of his previous
promises.”
Niamaki further promised to support the Afghan Refugees Festival,
which is scheduled to take place in Martial Arts in Iran, and expressed hope to
participate in the event if the timetable is dully met.
Finally; the NOC President also met with Eric Tohey, President of
the Indonesian NOC and while highlighting the Indonesia’s magnificent
organization of the Asian Games in Jakarta emphasized on the cooperation
between two Muslim countries in sports and hoped that they could further
cooperate and exchange more experiences in the days to come.
Eric Tohey also expressed satisfaction with the expansion of the
relations with Iranian Muslim brothers and said that they will certainly wish
to maintain their friendly ties and cooperation with Iran based on mutual
intertests.
The Indonesian President said: “we did our best to perfectly host
the Asian Games”.
